The Hale Family filed appropriate complaints with the Washington Department of Health, Washington State Bar Association, and Washington Attorney General. So far, each agency has turned the Family down.

Washington State Bar Association

The Washington State Bar Association makes it very difficult for a lawyer to ensure a vulnerable adult client is not being taken advantage of. For example, it seeks the disbarment of an attorney because he petitioned the Superior Court to determine, in a guardianship proceeding, whether his very elderly vulnerable client was capable of selecting new counsel.
